ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE TRAINEE~Retirement Plan Administration

PenServ Plan Services, Inc. is a professional firm providing administration services to employee retirement plans. Employers and participants contact our Columbia, S.C. office for assistance in processing transactions, customer service and client relationship management.
We are searching for a professional, customer-oriented individual to serve as the customer contact, review plan documents, prepare/review retirement plan financials and reports and assist the senior plan managers with various activities associated with plan activities.
Individual will complete a comprehensive training program leading to certification in pension administration. This position could advance to a plan manager level.
Requirements- Able to identify and apply knowledge of plans to identify complex plan characteristics without assistance
- Prepares and maintains communication for larger Plan Sponsors
- Reviews Plan Document and reviews system specifications
- Directs plan activity for complex plans and assures compliance with regulations and internal procedures
- Able to identify and provide solutions for complex plans, assist with plan enrollment procedures, complex relationship issues, pre and post year-end procedures and the day-to-day activities for larger or complex Plan Sponsors
- Assist and advise plan sponsor in the application of payroll procedures, review and assist plan sponsor with communication issues, recognize situations that can cause issues within a plan and communicate solutions to the sponsor, ensure account procedures and web applications are consistent with document and operational needs of the plan, and recommend changes to Group Supervisor
- Able to set up Plans in Relius and apply accurate coding to plan specifications and web application without assistance
- Cross-train with Group Supervisor and act in that position during Supervisor's absence
- Gains sufficient technical knowledge to obtain QKA ASPPA Designation
- 2 - 4 Year Degree Required
- ** Series 6 and/or 63 License a plus
